Cognitive traces¶
I think the idea of layering the instruments of a song came on the second day. At the beginning, our goal was simply to generate an output, such as a sound or a color. However, during the process we realized that we could do something more interesting and complex. From that moment, we started thinking about working with different layers of the song’s instruments instead of limiting ourselves to a single output.
Once we completed this part, our way of thinking changed again. We started asking ourselves: “What could we add now?” This question pushed us to explore new possibilities and to think about how to integrate lights into the project and how we could use them to further enrich the experience.
Moral traces¶
Within the group we did not have any particular problems or tensions. The work was divided fairly equally among all the members, and everyone contributed to the development of the project with their own role. This made the collaboration quite smooth throughout the week.
Regarding the use of AI, it was a very useful tool, especially for writing the code and for making the subsequent adjustments to it. It helped us solve some technical problems more quickly and improve the code when something was not working as expected. However, we still tried to understand what we were doing and not simply copy the solutions, but rather use them as support during the development process.
Technical / process traces¶
At the beginning we were working with a speaker taken from an old radio. However, it gave us several problems: it was difficult to connect and the sound quality was quite poor. This caused us to lose some time in the early stages of the project.
After a briefing with some professors, we realized that using this old speaker, compared to a modern Bluetooth one, did not add any real value to our project. For this reason, we decided not to use it anymore and to change our approach.
This decision allowed us to focus on other aspects of the project and dedicate more time to developing the parts that could actually improve the final experience.
